Mortgage Foreclosure Court is a special process which is available in Blair County. The purpose is to allow the homeowner, along with their attorney, an opportunity to meet with the bank’s attorney, in order to see if an agreement can be reached to avoid foreclosure. To be eligible for this program, an affidavit must be filed with the court indicating that the property is currently being occupied by at least one of the owners.
Mortgage Foreclosure Court can be useful where an individual needs a short amount of time to get caught up on their payments. It can also be a help when someone is trying to work with the bank on a mortgage modification, but has difficulty communicating with anyone at the bank.
If the problem can’t be solved in mortgage foreclosure court, you should consult with a mortgage foreclosure attorney, or a bankruptcy attorney, and discuss your options.
